Prospective Student Athletes

We are excited that you are considering Tulane University as your future academic and athletics destination. The Academic Services Center, in conjunction with the Tulane Athletics NCAA Compliance office, encourages you to use this site, and the links provided, to help in the transition to becoming a member of the Green Wave family in accordance with all applicable NCAA and American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.

Initial Eligibility - Academics & Amateurism

The first step toward eligibility is registration with the Eligibility Center. This should be completed as soon as possible. Please visit the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Center Website to register and begin the process toward initial eligibility. Make sure to answer all questions completely and honestly. Do not hesitate to contact the Compliance Office if you have any questions or concerns.

The next step is ensuring that you are taking and passing the necessary high school classes in order to be eligible to compete in NCAA athletics. Please consult the following resources for more information concerning core course and other eligibility requirements:

Please pay particular attention to the increased initial eligibility standards for those students enrolling in college on or after August 1, 2016.

All prospective student-athletes must be certified as amateurs prior to competing in intercollegiate athletics. The NCAA certifies the status of all incoming student-athletes. Please consult the resources at the link below for more detailed amateurism information.
