Advising is a collaborative partnership that maximizes the individual potential of students by sharing information, tools, and resources that empower students to make informed decisions about creating appropriate academic and career plans to achieve their academic, career, and life goals.
All Newcomb-Tulane College Students are assigned an academic advisor each year. The NTC Advisor’s responsibilities are outlined below. NTC students also may utilize the pre-professional advising services if they are pursuing a pre-health or pre-law pathway. Finally, NTC students gain a major advisor when they declare a major, typically in the sophomore year. Major advisors are responsible for guiding students in their chosen major and NTC advisors are responsible for guiding students on areas pertaining to the core curriculum, NTC degree requirements, and NTC policies. You'll continue to work with both your major advisor and your NTC advisor to ensure you're making progress in your major as well as your Newcomb-Tulane College degree.
